Sparks #25

IMG_6052

My friend Annie at McGuffy’s Reader started a wonderful blog hop called Sparks with the intent to share an inspirational thought each Monday, and she’s invited us to join her. I think this is an awesome idea, and a great way to start the week!

I love the above quote for the simplicity of its message.  It is one that over many years has become engrained in my way of thinking.  Life happens, sometimes it blindsides us, sometimes it knocks us down, and sometimes it knocks the breath out of us.

Sometimes we think we don’t have the strength or the courage to try again… but we do, that inner resilience is always within us.  It was given to us by our Creator.  If life is hard and knocks you down, cry, and scream if you need to.  Take a little time out to re-center yourself.  Reach out for a hand to help you up if you need one.

Then refocus on what is most important to you in your life, and what your true purpose is for being here… and BOUNCE BACK!  Take one step at a time if necessary, but don’t give up, don’t ever give up!  Refuse to be permanently broken and defeated.  Refuse to become an angry, bitter person, weight down by the past. Let it go.

Bounce back… begin again… become an even stronger version of yourself than you were before.  You can do it! 🙂

Come and check out Sparks, find your inspiration for the week there, and maybe share something too!

Many of you are familiar with the “Thought for the Day” posts on my Facebook page that carry more messages of hope and encouragement. I post a new one each morning, drop by and check them out.  🙂

Author: Josie Two Shoes

I've been blogging off and on since August of 2006. I adopted the pen name Josie Two Shoes in 2007 as I began a new chapter of my life standing on my own two feet. Now I'm married to the man of my dreams; we live in dusty West Texas with a house full of furkids. I am an Aquarian by birth, and although I am past sixty and slightly frayed around the edges, my fascination with this thing called life continues. Faith, family, and friends are important to me; so are honesty, trust, tolerance, compassion and kindness. I'm pretty up front about most things, so if you want to know something more about me, just ask! :-) You can also reach me by email and find me at my Facebook page.

  1. I’ve been knocked down many times in my long life. I always got back up and moved forward. I’m ever so glad I did. Excellent Spark.

Have a fabulous day and week, Josie. ♥

  2. Thank you for this message. We just visited my brother and sis-in-law at their daughter’s hospital bedside after her terrible car accident yesterday afternoon. I’m happy to say she could be so much worse than she is, though it was tough to see her sedated and still in pain. This reminds me she is young and very well might bounce back. ~nods~ Be well!

  3. As humans, we are resilient. We must decide when to bounce back and when to keep going. We should always give it several tries before even considering stopping. Even then, it is not a failure, but often an end to a chapter of our story. So, we begin a new chapter. We keep going.
Thank you for adding to Sparks. That is what it is all about: bringing light, sharing it with those who seek it, and knowing that is what makes you shine.

    1. As long as we don’t give up on life, we are bouncing back to living and loving! We may need to change our direction, or the amount of effort required, but if we have faith we have the strength we need for each new day!
