Sparks #16

extMy friend Annie at McGuffy’s Reader started a wonderful blog hop called Sparks. Here’s what she says about it…

When I began blogging, it was my intent to post an inspirational thought each Monday. It would be my weekly meditation, and perhaps feed another’s spirit as well. I am inspired by the positive energy of my peers.

The negative energy in the world has become thick and oppressive. Social media has become a part of this dark, negative storm. There is an obvious universal need for more positive energy. And, we can all be part of this affirmative change.

I believe we are meant to be lights in this world. If we allow our light to shine, we can see where we are going. It is then that we can begin to truly see each other clearly. Together, we can light up the entire world!

I hope you will join us. Please link up a positive quote, thought, poem, or verse.  Remember to add the Sparks badge to your post to invite others. The more, the merrier. Peace.

I think this is an awesome idea, and a great way to start the week! Many of you are familiar with the “Thought for the Day” posts on my Facebook page that carry messages of hope and encouragement, and I look forward to sharing similar things here.

The photo quote above is one I found on Pinterest that I love, not only for it’s bright, cheerful colors that make me smile, but also for the message it bears. I believe that God made each of us unique and endowed us with a special purpose that can only be revealed when we are being who we were meant to be, and not trying to be like someone else or what someone else thinks we should be.  I encourage each of you to be true to yourself and let the beauty of that shine through!

untitled (51)Come and check out Sparks… find your inspiration for the week there!

Author: Josie Two Shoes

I've been blogging off and on since August of 2006. I adopted the pen name Josie Two Shoes in 2007 as I began a new chapter of my life standing on my own two feet. Now I'm married to the man of my dreams; we live in dusty West Texas with a house full of furkids. I am an Aquarian by birth, and although I am past sixty and slightly frayed around the edges, my fascination with this thing called life continues. Faith, family, and friends are important to me; so are honesty, trust, tolerance, compassion and kindness. I'm pretty up front about most things, so if you want to know something more about me, just ask! :-) You can also reach me by email and find me at my Facebook page.

  1. I love the graphic you chose for your Spark. And I agree with your wise words too. if we’re too busy trying to be like someone else, we miss our potential and the satisfaction of who we were meant to be! Great Spark to begin the week.

  2. Hi Josie, I love this saying – it’s similar to another one I like “be yourself as everyone else is taken”. The graphic is amazing and I love the colours and the patterns in the elephant.
It’s very true and I always find it really sad when people hide their true self because they think they won’t be accepted.
Thanks for visiting my blog and have a really lovely day.

  3. The world actually teaches us how to adjust. Unfortunately, sometimes we refuse to listen. It is all about learning from life and each other. I think that once we accept ourselves and become comfortable within our own spirit, that is when we find acceptance within the world. Welcome to Sparks!
